Gemma Atkinson
Gemma’s new role as a paramedic in Casualty has set pulses racing and she’s sure to impress when she’s on screen from September this year. She’s just completed two films ‘How to stop being a loser’ recently released in cinemas and now out on DVD, see trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3cR8t-KtSY and ‘Airbourne’ which caused a stir in Cannes. She’ll soon be shooting an Indian film followed by a re-make of a huge cult horror film.
Gemma, best known for playing Lisa Hunter in ‘Hollyoaks’ has taken her acting career to new levels over the past few years. She starred in hit West End show ‘Calendar Girls’ playing Elaine and having made a fantastic impression was chosen for one of the lead roles, Celia, for the UK tour. She went on to impress theatre critics with her performance of Belinda in Neil LaBute’s 3 hander ‘This is How It Goes’ at the Kings Head Theatre in Islington.
Gemma also filmed an episode of Waterloo Road, The Bill and C4’s ‘Plus One’. She played a small role in British Gangster movie ‘The Baseline’ and also ‘Boogie Woogie’ alongside Joanna Lumley, Heather Graham and Christopher Lee.
She has played lead parts in Brit horror flick ’13 Hours’ alongside Harry Potter’s Tom Felton and Brit Flick ‘The Sweet Shop’ for MWS media, due for release later this year.
To all gaming fanatics out there she’s now known as ‘Lieutenant Eva’ in Command and Conquer, Red Alert 3, which was released world wide at the end of October 2008.
Gemma also travelled to Beijing where she took part in the great walk of China with Olivia Newton-John for Olivia’s cancer centre
