Sebastien Izambard





Roguishly handsome, philosophical, passionate, mercurial and somehow almost quintessentially Gallic,37-year old Sebastien Izambard is the only completely self-taught singer in global pop-opera phenomenon IL DIVO.

Launched in the UK late 2004,after a worldwide search of the international opera houses and concert halls by pop impresario Simon Cowell, IL DIVO have since become the most successful international musical break-out story of the past few years, selling more than 25 million albums.

The group has garnered over 150 gold and platinum awards in 33 countries. Their first album was the highest charting debut for a UK signed act ever in America, their 2nd album “Ancora”; the only classical crossover album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200. Their popularity stateside has certainly grown with recent album ‘ThePromise’ achieving their biggest ever first week sales there.

IL DIVO have also quickly launched onto the stages of the world with great success…already selling over 2million concert tickets across 3world tours. Their recent ‘An Evening with IL DIVO tour ’spanned most of 2009 playing over 130 arena shows ,and garnering them the Billboard Breakthrough Award for one of the biggest grossing tours last year.

They have also had the honor of joining Barbra Streisand ontour in North America, which included both performing and some scripted scenes with her. Album and tour promotion has seen Sebastien very familiar with countless TV show interviews ,appearances and performances over the past 6 years including daytime staples such as Oprah & similar programming internationally as well as TV highlights like the Daytime Emmy’s (USA), FIFA World Cup 2006 Opening & Closing Ceremonies (Germany), London 2012 Olympics Handover Event (UK), The Nobel Peace Prize (Norway), The Logies (Australia), USA Women’s Open Final (USA), Miss World (China) &The Inaugural Purple Ballin honor of President Obama (USA).

Before IL DIVO, Sebastien was an established popstar in his native France, his 2000 solo album, ‘Libre’ spawned a number one hit, ‘Si Tu Savais’. He wrote and produced for other French artists, and was special guest of French legend Johnny Halliday on tour in 2001.  In 2002 he played the role of the Business Man in Richard Cocciante’s “Le Petit Prince” and performed in several theatre plays as part of the group “LaTroupe”.

In earlier years Sebastien did a host of modelling across both commercial and editorial campaigns aswell as early experience as an extra on local TV & film productions. Sebastien is married with young twins. He is a keen supporter of charity AMTM (AssistanceMedicaleToitduMonde) that helps poor children in Nepal & India and continues to song write and further his acting ability with regular classes.  Sebastian is also interested in looking at TV presenting opportunities.
