Scarlette Douglas recently starred on The One Show. As it was NHS blood week, Scarlette promoted the idea and the process of blood donations to the NHS.

She began the segment off by giving the harrowing tale of how her brother was involved in a robbery accident, where he was stabbed. He needed around fifty pints of blood in 2001, which was generously donated by about 48 people.

Scarlette then goes on to describe how the NHS uses around 6,000 pints of blood a day just in England alone, however, within the population, only 4% of people donate their blood regularly.

Furthermore, she generously donated her blood and is now an individual who has further contributed to helping individuals in need within society. If you missed this episode you can watch it back here.
